Brompton Cemetery
Brompton Cemetery on Fulham Road is one of the 'Magnificent Seven' London cemeteries and is one of the oldest and most distinguished. The richness of the art and symbolism contaiined in many of the graves and monuments traces art movements across two centuries.
SSHC began a major programmme of repair and conservation at Brompton in 2017. Scheduled works to 27 of the tombs and monuments vary widely in scope but include: dismantling & re-building, vegetation removal, removal of iron fixings and replacement with stainles steel, under-pinning, re-carving, lime mortar repairs and mosaic conservation.
